Benjamin apprenticed under the tutalage of Jim Coffelt (M.F.A. Middle Tennessee State University in Sculpture) owner of First Impressions Pottery in the Arts & Crafts Community located in Gatlinburg, TN from 2003 to 2004. After completion of his apprenticeship Benjamin worked for many of the potters in the Gatlinburg area learning a deverse set of skills that have helped him to create his own style of unique and functional pottery and sculptural items. Working alongside wife and business partner Melissa Ball has allowed Benjamin to create sculptural and functional items that try and break down the barriers that contain our cultural ideas of what sculpture and functional pottery really is.
